Welcome to The Injury Times, a women’s football blog with its heart on the sidelines.
This is a space for stories that don’t always make the headlines: injuries, recoveries, burnout, and the real-life problems players face when they’re not on the pitch. From ACL tears and surprise withdrawals to long-term health challenges and comeback stories, we’re here to talk about the parts of the game that matter just as much as goals and glory.
Why we exist
This blog started from a mix of passion and frustration, a love of the game, and a growing awareness that players are getting hurt (a lot), and no one’s really talking about it in a thoughtful, consistent way.
We want to shine a light on the things happening off the ball, and hopefully help push the conversation forward around player health, care, and advocacy in women’s football.
What you’ll find here
- Honest blogs about recent injuries, squad withdrawals, and wider issues
- Deep dives on recurring issues like ACL injuries in the women’s game
- Stories of recovery, resilience, and what happens next
Coming soon: a newsletter, podcast, and maybe even a community space.
